New Job

Well, as some of you may know, I left my old job as a web designer/developer, at a SEO firm in Dallas, a few months ago. I wanted to find something that allowed me to grow more creatively and get more fulfillment.

For the last month or so, I have been freelancing at Neiman Marcus Online’s creative department. I have been filling in for people who had taken vacation time. It’s been a great experience. I did all sorts of things from photo retouching to e-mail advertisements to flash video. I wish there would have been room for a full time position because I would have loved to stay.

However, new doors have opened. Before I begin the NMO contract, I had interviewed with dozens of companies for a variety of positions. Some positions were design in natural, but the majority for in application programming, which I’ve since come to the conclusion that I don’t want to do fulltime. One interview, also the most odd, was with Match.com, which is based here in Dallas. The position is for designing the UI (user interface) and building content. I have received, and accepted, and offer to go to work with them. I’m excited about the opportunity and cannot wait to begin next week.

This should be interesting.
